Making Sure Every Child Wakes Up to Magic
For most of us, Christmas is about joy and togetherness. But for many families in Citrus County, the holidays can be a heavy time. When you’re working hard just to keep the lights on and food on the table, a Christmas tree with gifts underneath can feel out of reach.
The Christmas Project is here to change that. We believe that every child no matter their circumstances deserves to feel the magic of Christmas morning. Thanks to people like you, we’re able to brighten the holidays for over 2,000 local children every single year.
How You Can Help
Sponsor a Child
When you sign up to sponsor, we’ll give you a letter listing their "wishes and wants." This makes your gift personal and ensures they every child can experience the magic of Christmas.
General Donations
Many local businesses and friend groups are skipping their traditional gift exchanges and "pooling" their resources to sponsor multiple children instead. It’s a powerful way to celebrate the season as a team.
Group Sponsorship
Don’t have time to shop for a specific list? We always have the greatest wishes and greatest needs that need to make a children's Christmas magical. You could also do a toy drive where these gifts will go to children who come to us last minute or those who haven't been matched with a sponsor.
Help Us Wrap the Magic

Once you do, we’ll send over a list of the most requested toys and essentials that we use to fill the gaps for kids who don’t have a direct sponsor.
